Here’s the Murdersofa. See? It still exists. Pretty amazing that in a year I went from daily driving a LeSabre to daily driving a Miata. My dad is dailying it right now after his oil pump chain tensioner (!!!) failed and punched a hole through the side of the block on his 2005 VW Passatt, so that’s been in the shop for roughly three weeks now. It’s weird seeing/hearing someone else drive the Buick around.

Every time I hear the name Murdersofa I am reminded of William Murderface of Dethklok

FUCKING BRUTAL

But what about the CRX?

Murdersofa!

When you repaint the wheels they look much better with the center caps off.

That’s off *waves hands around vaguely* somewhere. Not my car, not my cares given.
EDIT: What’s funny is my dad hates small cars, so it’s his VW Passat wagon and the (technically his) Murdersofa vs my Miata and his girlfriend’s ‘91 CRX HF

On the Miata? Personally if I keep the stock wheels I’m stripping them back to stock finish. Modifying stock wheels just screams
I want to look cool but I can’t afford to actually get good wheels so I painted my stock ones

Cool neighbors!

Black makes even the most mundane car look sweet.

I didn’t even know you had a Miata

Not mundane but does not look sweet in black.

That car hasn’t been started in three years. It makes me cry.

Mundane? Surely you mean “impossible to keep clean”, right?

It’s an improvement over the blue, though. One way to make it even better: the crusher.

I’m going to stance it on 30” wheels and then it’ll look really dope.

In the shop? You mean he’s actually going to drop another engine in that thing? Be a good son and send that to the glue factory when he’s distracted.

You can find pictures of nice looking daisy wheels that owners have been able to do up. Even if you do just return them to the stock color, a different finish and leaving the caps off will look good.

I really like the silver ring with the gunmetal gray. This is more or less how I intended on doing them up.
This isn’t bad either, but I don’t know how that bronze would go with my silver car.

He makes poor decisions. He’s put obscene amounts of money into getting the Buick’s engine repaired (but not rebuilt. Or honed. Or re-ringed. Sigh) over the years. On a car with 230,000 not-easy miles.

Yeah my vote would be for something like the top picture.

Before you pass the Sof a on to its next care taker we need to have a show down (you have no idea how hard it was to resist that pun) between the Murdersofa and my SHO.

Well I’d be lying if I said every auto-expense decision I’ve made was wise.

The miata looks about half the size of the thesword.

Traded for the Miata. Threw in $1000 on top. The seller worked with me, I asked he and another technician what problems the Miata had and they said it was “great” ignoring the enormous exhaust leak, dangerously dry-rotted / broken belts tires, and six or seven holes in the top.

Accurate. One benefit of the smaller car I never realized ‘till now was that there is so much less space inside that the thing gets hot or cold REALLY fast.

I have no honest idea, but I doubt it.

Says the guy with like four sets of wheels. Get some hoosiers on them, bro.

Put a jack under the diff to lift the rear end off the ground. Turn one tire, if the other turns the same way it has an LSD if it turns the opposite way it has an open diff.

Nah, I have three sets of wheels (and no money...) but they all have good tires :D so not yet

my favorite thing about small cars is the effortlessness of maneuvering. You just don’t even need to think about it.

I don’t drive the Miata. I wear it.
